harvesting sun flowers

Fall harvest update

Sorry we haven’t been updating this lately. It has been a busy time with combines and trucks moving around the country. Jake and his crew are still in Canada. They have had a lot of weather delays but are rolling and hopefully will be done in two to three weeks. Kyle and Lieb and their crews are in Presho, SD right now harvesting soybeans. Ron also has a crew in Presho cutting an excellent milo crop. Nico is in charge of his first crew and they are harvesting popcorn which is a first for OCF. AJ got his crew rolling today in the Redwood Falls area combining soybeans after a wet last week. Everyone else’s crews are back in Hendricks harvesting beans on our farm. They are harvesting excellent soybeans and hopefully starting on sunflowers on Friday. For the first time we are planting winter rye on our farm and James should be done planting that by tomorrow night. It has also been very busy at the feedlot where they are chopping corn and filling the new bunkers. All the truckers have been busy hauling cattle to Dodge City, Kansas and hauling soybeans off the combines. Hope you are having a good start to the fall. Happy Harvest!
