2008 Olsen Custom Farms Diary

1/20/09 Blowing again!

I cannot believe this weather!  I think school has been late or off 5 out of the last 7 days!!

01/14/09 BRRRRRRRRR

Good morning.   We are definitely having Minnesota weather!  It's -14 degrees right now and it's supposed to be -20 tomorrow with -40 to -50 windchills.   Uffda.  The trucks will be sitting tomorrow as we feel it's just to dangerous to have anyone on the roads with temperatures like that.

12/24/08 Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone!  I'll write again after the first of the year.  I'm going some place a little warmer for a few days!

12/23/08 Above zero today!

Good morning.  The forecast shows that we should be above zero degrees for the most of today!  A heat wave!

12/16/08 More snow!!

Hello from Olsen Custom Farms!  I hope those of you who have flown back to South Africa made it home safely!

12/02/08 A NEW Nibbe!!

Good morning.  Yesterday, Luke and Amy had a baby boy!

12/01/08 Almost done!!

Good morning.  I know I've been bad about keeping everyone updated over the past couple weeks!  Sorry!

11/14/08 Back in the fields

After a couple days of wet, cruddy weather, they are giving the combines a try in the fields shortly.  It's going to be muddy I think but it's supposed to start getting colder so hopefully the ground firms up a bit so it's not such a mess.

11/11/08 Freezing rain

Good morning.  All of the schools are off today as we are getting some rain that is freezing as soon as it hits the ground so the roads are horrible.  We won't have any trucks on the road today but we are trying to do a little field work.

11/10/08 Combining in snow

Good morning.  It's a cold 14 degrees here this morning.  The guys had some time off but got back to doing some trucking on Saturday.  This morning, however, they are actually combining in the snow packed fields.  I can see the combines moving outside my window so it appears to be working.  We still have many acres to cut so I hope it continues to go okay!
